The Jamboree Pals, Kitty Bast and Pauline Noland, began their respective careers in the early 50’s, coming together as a duo in the latter part of the decade.
Both fine vocalists, Pauline also plays fiddle and guitar. Kitty’s expertise was on guitar and bass, and she was probably the first professional female steel guitarist in Canada.
In the late 50’s, they appeared on "Don Messer’s Jubilee" TV show from Halifax, Nova Scotia and were regulars on "The Hometown Jamboree" broadcast weekly from CFCF Montreal.
While they no longer performed together, they both remained active in country music. Pauline continues to make special appearances, and Kitty, until her retirement in 1999, was an accounts executive with CJET Country Classics radio station in Smiths Falls, Ontario. On June 26, 2019, Kitty passed away at the age of 85.
