JENNIFER JOHNSON-ARMSTRONG (2024 Inductees)

Born in Horton Township just outside of Renfrew in the Ottawa Valley, Jennifer is the youngest daughter of Bob & Julie Johnston. Since making her debut appearance from behind her mother’s skirt at the Wintario lottery show in 1983, she has graced stages in various parts of Canada, including the North Pole, as well as Europe and the Middle East.

After releasing her self-titled CD in 1998 and two music videos on CMT, she was featured in Country Music News magazine and the album was ranked number two by Larry Delaney in CMN’s Top Dozen Albums. The following year, she was nominated for the Horizon Award at the Canadian Country Music Awards.

Through the years, while focusing on raising a young family, Jennifer has made guest appearances and provided background vocals on several recordings for other artists in the Ottawa Valley, including music videos with Dick Damron, "Jesus, It’s Me Again" and David Austin, "Let’s Keep Flying Together", the Canada unity song produced at Lakeside Studios. She was part of the Gospel Show at the Valley Bluegrass Festival for 18 years and played at various fairs, festivals and fundraising events in and around the Eastern Ontario region. For the past 10 years, Jennifer has contributed background vocals for the Hall of Fame Show band.

Currently residing in Nova Scotia with her loving husband of 26 years, Lyle Armstrong, and their two children, Cole and Emily, Jennifer continues to hone her musical talents singing and playing keys in the worship band at Faith Baptist Church in Great Village.
